First national studies of quality of VA ministroke care and how best to measure that care


(Regenstrief Institute) 1st national study of the quality of care offered by the VA to patients following a transient ischemic attack (TIA) finds US’ largest healthcare system is doing a good job but also identifies targets for improvement especially for patients discharged from the ED. Also published is 1st study to investigate feasibility of assessing and reliably measuring quality of TIA care using electronic medical record data.
