Article Correctness Is Author's Responsibility: Research project aims to make experiments on red blood cells more realistic

(Saarland University) To gain a better understanding of diseases and to develop improved diagnostic techniques, experiments have to mimic natural biological conditions as closely as possible. Red blood cells, for example, should ideally be examined under the type of flow conditions found in the body. Until now, however, experimental configurations have only been partially successful in reproducing the in vivo environment. A research consortium is now planning to study red blood cells under more realistic physiological conditions.
